I’m Julie Lake (known as Jill to family and old schoolfriends) and I live on Tamborine Mountain, a beautiful place of lush green rainforests, flower-decked gardens and views of the ocean on one side and mountains on the other. This is a happy, friendly community with plenty of art and music to keep us entertained. I am a horticulturist, journalist, plant photographer and author of the GardenEzi series of easy gardening books which use a simple Five Step program to help people create beautiful gardens. My other interests include birdwatching, bushwalking, literature, camping, history and music of various kinds – I play the ukulele and belong to a women’s a capella singing group. I grew up in Kenya, another beautiful place, and love writing about that country too, for its memory is ever with me. I started this blog because I enjoy writing about this small mountain community in all its moods and seasons – it’s just such a great place in which to celebrate life.
